Fuel control

Your fuel bill is lying to you

Theft, idling and heavy right feet cost UK operators about £1,900 per vehicle per year. See where yours goes — then cut 8–15%.

Fuel is the second-biggest line on the P&L and the least examined. The bill says what was bought; it says nothing about what was burned, what idled away on site, and what left the tank at 2am. On an 18-truck fleet, £1,900 per vehicle is over £34,000 a year — real money hiding in a number everyone's stopped reading.

Tank-level monitoring, idling reports and driving-style scores turn the bill into a map: this truck, this yard, this habit. Then you fix the three things that matter instead of nagging everyone about everything.

Where the leaks are

Theft you can see, idling you can end

A tank level that drops overnight in the yard is a text to your phone, not a mystery at the pump six weeks later. Idling league tables name the sites and shifts burning diesel standing still. Harsh-driving scores show which trucks cost 15% more to run the same route — and give you the fair, numbers-based conversation with the driver.

Asked every week

How do you actually detect theft?

Tank-level sensors log every rise and fall with time and place. A drop with no engine running and no forecourt nearby is flagged the moment it happens.

Is 8–15% realistic or brochure talk?

It's the typical range once idling, driving style and theft are all visible and acted on. Fleets that only fix one of the three land lower; fleets with a real theft problem land higher.

Does it need new fuel cards or a new supplier?

No. It measures the tank, not the transaction — it works alongside whatever cards and bunkering you already run.

Will drivers see their own scores?

If you want them to. Most fleets share the league table — it moves behaviour faster than any memo, and the fair ones at the top like being seen.

What kit goes on the vehicle?

A tank-level sensor and the same tracking unit that runs the rest of the platform. Fitted in your yard, inside the 7–10 day install.
